What is a Computer Virus – Information on Computer Viruses

computer virus is much like our biological viruses. A computer virus is a produce of the information age. A virus is man made and is also known as a piece of code with set instructions, once the conditions are met that cause the code to start working, then those set instructions are carried out. A well written computer virus can do anything from delete a simple file to the reformatting of an entire hard drive.
To get a better understanding of how this works we will need to go back to the first sentance in this article. A biological Virus. Think of a foreign body in our bodies, if the foreign body is strong enough and our antibodies are not, then that virus will take over, think common cold, spread via touch or air.
Once this virus is inside of us, we become weak, our noses start to run and our bodies begin to hurt, now in the information age, we do not feel the physical strains on our computers, but we do notice them, if you know where to look and still remember how your computer was when you first bought it.
One thing to know is that a computer virus if written to do so can attach itself to all your programs, replicating itself and attaching to more programs.

Most Famous Computer Viruses Ever

They are a nemesis. They dangerous. They cause havoc. They destroy data and make you lose your hard earned money. They make computers sick. They are the virtual diseases.
Computer viruses have been around since long time. As the time progressed, viruses became more and more sophisticated, harder to stop and more destructive. The damage caused by these self-replicating programs is such that a parallel industry of anti-virus makers has come of ages now. Cyber security companies are making billions of dollar just because viruses are out there to give them business. Virus creators argue that they are forcing software makers to give more attention to security aspect. Here we look at the list of some of the most destructive viruses of all time:

BEWARE OF ROGUE, ANTI-VIRUS, SCAREWARE

Rogue Anti-virus programs (also called “Scareware”) are spreading like wildfire. These programs pretend to be legitimate anti-virus programs, and lock users out their software, making the computer inoperable. They then warn that the computer is infested with viruses, and that you need to activate the program by giving them your credit card.
DON’T GIVE THEM YOUR CARD! These are fake programs created by criminals and they are likely to charge more then what they ask for. Regular anti-virus programs won’t lock you out and ask for payment to remove infections. Since the “Scareware” program, blocks users from accessing their programs, they can be a little tricky to remove if you don’t know the proper methods.
